In partnership with the Seattle Children’s Care Network (SCCN), Seattle Children’s has launched a pilot private health information exchange called PHIN (Pediatric Health Information Network) that will become accessible through CIS on Monday March 19. Currently, participants in the pilot include Seattle Children’s, Allegro Pediatrics, and Woodinville Pediatrics. Additional participants are in the process of implementation.

What does this mean for you? Users are now able to securely access health records of participating sites seamlessly through CIS. These records will include labs, problem lists, allergies, medications, growth charts, and immunization data. Key benefits include:

  • Gaining a more complete view of patient information
  • Faster and easier coordination of care
  • Increase efficiency of support staff
  • Improved quality of care
  • Increased patient satisfaction

Our PHIN objectives include fostering deeper collaboration within the healthcare community that begins with the secure, digital exchange of patient data in order to meet the challenges of the Triple Aim in alignment with our institution’s Population Health Strategic Initiative.
